The Freshman Blues & Other Tales of Yale

Timothy Thompson Yale Freshman 1964

In 1964 Life magazine commissioned photographer Bill Eppridge to follow country boy freshman Timothy Thompson during his first term at Yale. The published images are very interesting, but there are a whole host of others, not published, lurking in the Life archives.

No commentary needed really, just soak up the atmosphere and the clothes (Thompson himself was apparently somewhat of a yokel – his formal shoes in the other photos for instance are pretty nasty – but seems to have been clothed otherwise by those in the know).
