Found this in my closet today. Bought it 15 years ago on ebay NWT and it was a bargain - maybe £50 if memory serves. But I’ve never worn as its the old blouson sleeve style that in 2009/10 was way too off trend even in the traditional ivy world. Years later and the skinny/near skinny look consigned to ASOS and Thom Yorke suddenly the cut befits a man of such advance age as I.  The color is olive but on the brown side. Pretty much every year I find it, didn’t remember that I had it, promise myself to start using it, then promptly forget until the following year. ADHD brain.

Pretty sure I've posted Bob in Baracuta before but have been revisiting the series Newhart from the early 80s. For me those days where in the UK we only had @johnsimons1955 and a bunch of mail order catalogs from from LL Bean and Brooks Brothers, watching this show when it was current was a window into Trad America. Bob with his flat front straight leg Chinos (I bought a pair of similar Halrin from JS after seeing those), Tom Poston's classic work wear and chore coats but also Kirk's Buffalo plaid bombers. All the mysterious objects of desire.

These New England looks continued to inspire me into the early 90s when I was buying deadstock Lee overalls and Bean chore coats.

Oh and theme from the show by Henry Mancini no less. Just the first few bars send me back to that time of being an ivy outsider!

Only ever used this Knirps automatic umbrella two or three times in five years. Umbrella advice was from @beteoh many years ago.

I blame El Nino. I remember being in LA in the 90s during an El Nino year and it was freaky rain but warm enough to go to the beach in November.
